A Late 18th Century Italian Revolving Tabernacle

A late 18th century Italian gilt carved revolving tabernacle consisting of mounted gilded carvings and a marbleized body. The key still in working order and once turned allows the niche to rotate and has three different coloured niches. To the rear is a later door which opens to reveal the interior workings. The tabernacle is very decorative and is completely untouched, it does require some restoration to the gesso and gilding/ paint work, however it is just as nice in its current country house condition.

The statue of Madonna is not included in this sale. Height = 111 cm (43.7") Width = 80 cm (31.5") Depth = 50 cm (19.7).
