Antique American Dense Heavy Pinewood 2 Door Wardrobe Armoire Late 19th Century
This is an Antique American Pinewood 2 Door Wardrobe Armoire. The Armoire is Beautifully Created with a dense Pinewood. The pinewood appears to be Long leaf as well as other types of pinewood. Some of the original pieces have been replaced and some of the boards have been resecured with screws. The top of the Wardrobe is dovetailed where an enormous hand carved crowntop sits with 2 large carved finials sitting to the left and right off it. There are 2 unique Paneled folding doors that open with ease. The escutcheons on the door are ornately made with a key to lock. The back of the Wardrobe is made of joined boards that are grooved into place. This is where some screws were placed to hold the boards securely in place. Along the bottom one will notice some old woodworm holes. The base is as solid as can be as is the entire piece itself. NOTE The wardrobe is one secured piece of furniture that does not Disassemble, So Please measure your doors before purchasing. Also it is extremely heavy and will take a handful of people to ensure that it is placed properly in your home. The Black paint is peeling off the wood in some areas. Leave as is for a shabby country effect or repaint Stain to your liking. The top left finial has been repaired.
