Condition Report: This English late 17. Century oak side table is in excellent overall condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, drawer front and top, but nothing significant considering the age of the item (see photos). The table has been wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are stunning.
The drawer is in good working order. We believe the drawer front and linings have been replaced at some point in the past. Likewise, the brass drop handles are probably later replacements. The pine drawer bottom appears to be original. The drawer closes flush to the frame.
The table features the original top and backboard to the rear, legs and stretchers. It appears the feet tips have also been replaced at some point in the past, usually due to constant wear and tear being in contact with the floor.
