Antique Late 19th c. Maple Empire Chest of Drawers

This lovely piece of workmanship was produced sometime in the late 1800s and is made entirely from maple, including the simple drawer pulls. The signature scrolled decorative stiles end in heavy scroll feet in the front and block feet in the rear. The stiles and drawer fronts are fitted with gorgeous maple burl veneer and feature simple brass escutcheons. The piece also bears another signature of the Empire style which is its bow front and single large step-out drawer. This piece is breathtaking but does show signs of its veneer delaminating and the wood drying out unevenly. There is also signs of spills and stains inside the drawers themselves. There is currently no key available but that is an easy fix.

The chest measures 44" high, 41 1/2" wide, 23 deep, and weighs between 175 - 200 lbs. His item is in good to very good condition but it does show signs of wear from age and use. There is significant lifting of the maple veneer and noticeable marks around the scrolled feet and sides.
