Absolutely fantastic Oak Sideboard from the late 1800's. The sideboard was made by Williamsport Furniture Co. The Knapp joints on the drawers date the item from 1866 to 1900.
All four wood wheels are intact and function. There is a slight burned area to the top and damage to the mirror where it appears an old oil lamp malfunctioned many years ago. I thought that added character to the sideboard.
All the hardware appears appropriate for the period and all the locks are present. No veneer on the item, just solid oak was used for construction.
The sideboard appears extremely well cared for through the years. It is lacking a protective finish and I do not know is someone stripped it long ago or if the lack of finish was particular to the piece.
I only use Howards natural bees wax on the item. The Sideboard is 48 inches wide, 20 1/2 inches deep and 73 inches tall.
Truly a nice piece and difficult to get one this nice. It is two pieces making it easy for transport. The item "Antique Oak Sideboard Buffet-Williamsport Furniture Co.
