In very good condition for its age--All wood with beautiful natural patterns. Carved face in back of chair. Does show a bit of wear, few minor surface scratches & could use a new coat of varnish. Its main flaw is that someone put a small metal brace at the top of one of the back legs.
It is very small & the chair is sturdy. I did not even notice it at first. I have no idea to what extend the leg was once damaged. If I were to keep the chair myself, I would probably remove the brace & investigate to see if I could not repair the leg without the brace. It might have been a quick fix for someone inexperienced in repairing wood pieces.
