Late 18th Century Mahogany Secretary bookcase. Circa 1765
Fine late 18th Century mahogany secretary bookcase, the two upper doors with mostly original glass supported by Gothic design astragal glazing bars. The secretaire drawer opens to reveal graduated incurved drawers with matching rosewood veneers (two small secret compartments) the drawer fronts with carved ivory pulls. The lower section comprising three long graduated drawers, conforming but later hardware, and the whole standing on four bracket feet.
