Super RARE Late 19th C Art Deco Brasilia Butterfly Table TOP / Circa 1890-1900
Obviously ONLY the top here is offered (The rarest part)- None the less - if you are a woodworker, you can very easily fashion a base. It is now illegal to make tables using butterflies. The butterflys on this table are protected because they are secured with a piece of glass on the top and a strong solid wood rim holding the glass in place top and bottom. The butterfly's look like a spectacular colorful kaleidoscope. Obviously the work of a good etymologist, delicately spreading the wings using these quite unusual repeated patterns. Would make a lovely side table or cocktail conversational piece. The table has all the original labels intact. This TOP here is in exceptional condition with little to no scratching at all.
