These shades lived in my Nan and Grandads spare room. After my Nan died I helped my mum clear the house. She was a collector, who had a good eye, and always bought quality. She furnished the second house they built largely from Habitat, and these shades date from then so theres a good chance they are from there.

The shades measure 177mm tall and are in great condition, the only slight wear along the back seam; years of meticulous dusting caused this I imagine as Nan was very house proud! The bases are from lamps my wife and I bought about 18 years ago from John Lewis. The stem is chrome, with a tempered glass base. These to are in great condition with only a tiny chip in one, which bizarrely is near the middle and likely came like this and I just never noticed until now.

The wiring and switching is perfect, I have just carried out an insulation resistance test at 250v and all read greater than 99M ohms. Visually the cables are mint, nice and white with no nicks!

Although from two different periods this is a marriage made in heaven; they have been vying for a space in our home and Ill be sad to see them go but we are over-run with lighting! They stand 465mm tall overall.
