ANTIQUE 60 S Curve ROLL TOP DESK, QUARTER SAWN OAK, late 19th C
ANTIQUE 60 S Curve ROLL TOP DESK, QUARTER SAWN OAK, late 19th C. American "S" Quarter Sawn Oak Desk. 19th century (Believed to be late 1890's). 60" long x 49" tall x 33.5 wide. NOTE: Tambour roll top: Canvas on roll top needs work.... A manageable and fairly easy repair.... NOTE: Top of desk has a coat of poly over the Birch? - Birch veneer on Beverly top part not original? NOTE: Center drawer does not appear to be original.

The 2 writing pull out surfaces/"tablets" that pull out... These were most likely not the originals? PLEASE NOTE: I have described this desk to the best of my ability, after having had it looked at by a few dealers and old time woodworkers/furniture restorers.

I did not have it officially appraised, just looked at, and unofficially appraised. NOTE: Desk is currently taken apart. Photos were taken before moving.

Altho both were refinished I believe.... And yes, I DO know that furniture sales arent what they used to be, etc, etc..
