Antique Indigo Work Skirt late 1700s French Workwear Work Wear Chore Skirt Wool

Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! This is an amazing find, I love this skirt! This is an indigo and Prussian blue work skirt in the most amazing heavy hand woven wool! This dates to the late 1700s or early 1800s, and is just the most wonderful heavy sturdy skirt. The skirt is gathered all the way around and closes with a hook and eye.

There is an opening in one side to access an internal pocket (although there are no pockets on this garment). This skirt is a historical treasure, and would be amazing for wear or for study!

CONDITION : This skirt is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This skirt is in wonderful shape some small tears and weak spots on the fabric, but overall amazing condition indeed!
