Made from solid rosewood, they bears Neo Greek style decorative features including hand-carved acanthus foliage scroll work across the base of the crest rail, hand-stempled backgrounds, paw feet with casters as well as saber legs with casters on the back, and a tight demilune crest rail. The rocker does not have any casters and instead bears elegantly curved sleigh legs. They were both stuffed with a mixture of straw and cotton fluff, common upholstery fluffing during that time period. The settee measures 40" high, 52" wide, 30" deep with a seat height of 20". The rocker sits on a pair of heavy-gauge springs, which are excellent condition.
It measures 37" high, 26" wide, 29" deep and has a seat height of 20". Both of these item are upholstered in their original fabric - a forest green and goldenrod yellow raised floral design on a white background with a pale gold trim.
The settee has a deep mustard yellow back panel of velvet with the same pale gold trim. This set is in very good to good condition.
There are signs of wear from age and use on some of the upholstery but the rosewood is in excellent condition, as are the springs for the rocker. Please consult images and message with any questions. Item code: LAL (split, jd).
