Antique Late 19th Century Tiger Stripe Empire Buffet Sideboard with Original Mirror Shelf. In very good condition, especially given age. Some normal normal dings, nicks, and marks. 60" wide, 22" deep, 53 high to the top of the mirror shelf.
To the top of the cabinet itself is 38.5 high. The mirror shelf measures 14" high x 6" deep. This antique buffet is in the empire furniture style with thick, curved pilaster sides, curled feet, and matching Empire corbels. Featuring gorgeous, heavily figured Tiger Stripe Oak throughout with it's original finish on the carbinet and mirror shelf sections. The surface has normal dings, nicks & marks.
The work surface top is made from solid quartersawn tiger strip oak boards, no veneers. The top was beautifully refinished and protected with a traditional Shellac surface to show off and preserve the natural beauty of the Tiger Oak.
The original mirror shelf has quartersawn empire corbel brackets and is removable. The mirror is in very good condition.
The curved front drawers match the curved side pilaster profile. They slide in and out smoothly and have Dovetailed construction. Both drawers feature working Mortise Locks - comes with key. An extra wide lower drawer was meant to hold your linens and table clothes.
Generous double door cabinet space in-between offering plenty of storage.
