The drawers glide smoothly, the whole is sturdy and in good original order, and has taken on an wonderful elephant or bone like patina over many years of being positioned in natural sunlight. This chest has that enviable natural bleaching which is impossible to fake and means it can sit happily in a traditional or more modern setting.
