Antique Walnut Upholstered Easy Chair - with carved dog-head arms. Make me a reasonable offer!

Located in west suburban Chicago - - local pick-up only! This is a beautiful all-walnut chair with carved dog-head arms that flow into nicely turned solid walnut legs in front (front legs sport the original porcelain casters). Back legs, and lower apron is also solid walnut. Front walnut apron is also walnut and includes inlaid decorative veneer. This is a very comfortable chair with a relaxing "reclined angle" to the seat back.

(I'm 6'1 and this very comfortable chair for me). A very unique and beautiful item with much family history. It was my great-great grandmother's and has been in the family for over 100 years.

Conditions - Wood is in good vintage condition, finish has nice patina and has not been refinished. Chair likely needs to be reupholstered as the fabric has a small 1/4 burn mark and may have yellowed over the years - but clean. Springs and frame are solid and should need no attention. Note that likely in the mid 1920's metal rods were added between all legs to add rigidity.

This was somewhat customary back in the day. Several images show either the rod heads or the nuts - actual rods are drilled into the wood and are not visible. These could be removed if desired and the holes plugged / filled. Here are several critical dimensions. Front of chair- 26-3/4 wide.

Back of chair- 25 wide. Top of back- 37-1/2 high. Seat- 20" deep and 18-1/2" wide.

Overall depth from front to deepest part of back- 33. Please view all images, as I have tried to show all angles. Let me know if you would like to see additional images or have any questions. Item is located in Chicago's western suburb of LaGrange.

I will work with you on a better price if you are interested in BOTH! If you are not pleased with the item when you come to pick it up I will cancel the sale. No cost / risk to you!
