ART DECO- Club Bergere chair upholstery late 1930's

A Stylish retro ART DECO Bergere STYLE CLUB CHAIR with rust/mauve color upholstery. The attractive club chair is a handsome one and in fair condition for its age. The very top is graced with carved foliate medallion center. A great vintage one to add beauty, charm and shabby- chic elegance to that special room in your home! I'm not certain of age but it was from my family home and sat next to the finest of antiques for about the last 60 years.

The chair is a huge armchair, which is in the style of Bergere- a style of French origin and was originally manufactured in the French Regency period. After that, they became popular all over Europe.

This chair has a prominent boldness and nicely shaped. Upholstered chairs are coming back big time.

This Art deco upholstered club chairs for vintage and retro lovers. The fabric is a sort of light wine color and is in fair condition with no major rips, tears, but could use a cleaning. The photos show the color brighter in some shots, but it is more a faded wine color. The padded upholstered cushion really adds to the comfort of this chair and this is a very comfortable chair. Oak veneer back, molded seat w/relief medalion.

The springs are in tact and all seems fine except minor separation and some minor upholstery stains and age. The finish is scuffed and in need of polish, and there are small scratches and scuffs, with a few small knicks at the top. In storage for many years.
