This is a Japanese antique. Hasamibako was made around the end of the Edo period. HASAMIBAKO is a samurai's property.

HASAMI BAKO is a box of goods that a samurai carries to his companion when he goes out on official business. A rectangular box with rings on both sides, and a sling rod passed through it. I kept documents, lunch, clothes, and weapons inside. This is a very rare item.
