Late 18th Century Gilt Wood And Marble Console in the style of Louis XVI. I have owned it since then. The carvings are splendid and the marble has bezeled edges and is cut to fit the base, it has curved corners and two protruding lips in the shape of the front legs. There is some flaking of the gold leafing on the legs but not severe, actually I love the patina it affords. The marble top is perfect and I must add quite heavy around 200 lbs. This is a substantial table and the marble sits securely on the base. Measurements 38 inches tall, 49 1/2 inches wide & 23 inches deep.
