Offered for your review and consideration is this really nice, very handsome late 19th to early 20th century, jig and punch cut, upright, eight-drawer Ame ri can antique wooden spice rack, featuring black enamel painted brass drawer knob pulls. The facia of the drawers are nailed to the drawer's sidewalls and not dove-tailed, pointing to late 19th or early 20th century drawer construction. But the now mellowed, original lacquered wood surfaces, have wonderful, honey and amber color hues and naturally oxidized, aged wood patina. The original brass drawer pulls were at some previous point in time, painted with black enamel paint, which has now receded somewhat, especially around the pull knob edges, due to repeated previous use. The spice rack was designed to either be hung on the wall or could just as easily, stand upright and sturdily on a kitchen or pantry counter-top.
Its eight drawers are made of all wood, with wooden sidewalls and wood plank floors. Great chocolate, amber and mellow honey colors and terrific cut-out backsplash. Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
