It does not alter the use of the chair. It is in very good antique condition, and shows normal signs of wear consistent with age. The seat has only very slight "sagging", but overall it's in shockingly great condition.

The pillow in the 2nd photo is for staging purposes only- I love how this piece can fit in with modern day decor, and add that bit of beautiful "antique" flare to any style.
