Late C18th Oak Gateleg Country Dining Table George III. George III period, oak gateleg dining table, dating from the late C18th. Thick oval oak top with drop leaves which are supported by gatelegs from either side. Later drawers with turned knob handles in both ends of the frieze.

Supported by a substructure of block and ring turned supports with well oblong stretchers. A charming period table, with marks and blemishes and a couple of old repairs, which add to its character. In a good condition, with good colour and patina, and very much ready for use. This table measures approximately 75. Leaves down, and 122.5 cm.

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. This table is in reasonably good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Couple of old repairs to the top. Very small amount of play when the leaves are down, but good when up.

Some marks and blemishes, with a little fading to one end, otherwise g. Ood colour throughout, and pleasing patina.

A few old worm holes, but now treated and does not affect the sturdiness or soundness of the table in anyway. As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc. This item can be be viewed at my workshop in Stainburn, near Otley (Leeds), LS21, by appointment only.
