A handsome late Victorian faux tortoiseshell back comb with green stone embellishment. CONDITION: good vintage condition with expected wear. SIZE: 3 ins h x 4½ ins w (7.5 x 11 cm).

Here is a very beautiful back comb dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian periods. The ground material is celluloid faux tortoiseshell. Along the top of the heading is mounted a decorative panel of gold tone metal, into which are set three faceted green glass stones.
