Louis XVI French Provincial Sideboard Ft. Inlaid Rosewood, Bronze Doré, Marble
I'm thrilled to offer for sale this positively divine monumental sideboard/buffet cabinet expertly handcrafted in France with the following fine features. Handcrafted in France circa 1960s in a quintessential King Louis XVI style. Monumental size, measuring 105.5" wide x 21.5" deep x 40" tall (a full 10" wider than most monumental sideboards). Made of solid mahogany and rosewood. Custom fitting white French marble top 1 thick with front routed edges.
Expert marquetry with exquisite rosewood inlays throughout. Five (5) dovetailed drawers each feature bronze doré trim, bronze French Provincial pull hardware, and custom-fitted red felt lining.
The opposing-end drawers pull out and swing left and right. Five (5) panel swing doors each feature an inlaid French Provincial floral bouquet cartouche adorned with bronze dorée trim. All five (5) panel swing doors share a common lock and key. The center panel door and opposing curved panel doors each feature ornate bronze dorée oval frames around their respective French Provincial floral bouquet cartouches.
Center cabinet opens to cavities with one shelf. Left-most cavity is empty, while right-most cavity opens to two (2) affixed shelves. Six (6) hand-turned fluted and tapered King Louis XVI style legs adorned with bronze knee sleeves and feet caps. Tensioning rods underneath for added structural strength and integrity. Marble top weighs approximately 300 pounds and base cabinet also weighs approximately 300 pounds. In perfect working and excellent cosmetic condition, with one professional, virtually indistinguishable repair to the left leg.While there are no distinguishable makers marks, there is a sticker that reads "mobilier fabriqué en france".
