Late 19th/early 20th century, France. This fine piece with a rectangular case, glass on three sides, mirror back, glass shelves with mirrored bottom in the display area. The rectangular crest is ornamented with a woven ribbon and berry vine. The pair of doors, each with a fine beveled glass panel beneath a bow tied cast-brass ormolu swag and mounted with a cast-brass handle decorated with leaf tip and C-scrolls. The lower portion of each door has a nicely carved walnut panel, each centered by a carved swag of leaf tips.
The bottom of each door is also decorated as is the crest with intertwined ribbons and berry sprigs. Sides of the cabinet; each with clear glass panels, the lower panels of which are similarly decorated as are the front paneled doors. The whole is raised on square tapered legs terminating in Marlborough feet. This nice display cabinet is fitted with two plate-glass shelves which are fixed in position but removable for storage.
