Rare DESVIL late 1940s/early 1950s articulated floor standing industrial lamp from machinist shop/auto garage. This is the highly desirable (and rarer than the already rare later versions) early model with patterned cast iron base and'DESVIL' cast in relief. In great vintage condition with original'dark old green machinery' paint and fully working, rewired at some stage. Re the green paint, its the colour of old industrial machinery that has been around from the 30s, through 40s to early 50s.

The later 50s models that are more common relatively! Have a lighter/brighter more bluey tone compared with this'British Racing Green' like colour.. Also bases are flatter, with only one long aperture for a carry handle and brand name sticker compared with this thick (and heavy) cast footed base with the DESVIL brand name cast in relief.
