VERY RARE LATE 18TH to EARLY 19TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE AME RI CAN ANTIQUE SALMON PAINTED, TWO-SHELF, ONE-DRAWER, FANCY PINE SOFTWOOD HANGING SHELF, with CUT-OUT, DECORATIVE EXTERIOR MARGINS, DOVETAILED DRAWER CONSTRUCTION & ORIGINAL REEDED, ROUND BRASS ESCUTCHEON & RING FINGER DRAWER PULL, featuring ALL ORIGINAL SURFACES & DRY, MATTE FINISH. [Estate fresh & found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, south of Boston]. Late 18th to early 19th century Ame ri can Chippendale hand painted furniture &. 27 ½" Height x 10" Width x 6 Depth. Offered is this nearly unscathed and absolutely untouched, rare Massachusetts' Chippendale, late 18th to early 19th century cut-out pine softwood, fancy, decorative hanging shelf, with two shelves and one pull-out drawer.

It's painted in the rare and coveted salmon pink color, perhaps second only in rarity to robin egg blue, often found as well, on these now over 205 to 235 year old pieces of New England decorative wooden objects. Influenced by the E n g l i s h Chippendale antique style found on E n g l i s h case furniture, chests of drawers and decorative wall hanging looking glasses (mirrors) this rare late 18th century to early 19th century hanging shelf distinguishes itself as thoroughly Ame ri can, with its 100% original painted surfaces and original, reeded fan, round drawer finger pull, iron escutcheon, still attached to the front of the diminutive, dove-tailed drawer, where it had always been. With all original surfaces and just tremendous, original matte, dry salmon paint, it suffers no perimeter cut-out'ear' loss,'in-painting,' repairs or mends old or new.

Near museum quality with its conditional integrity. Just a tremendous piece and an absolutely thrilling discovery. There's a killer in the room. Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition.
