Rare Porcelain Oil Lamp Base. This piece is rare and in the form of a cat and with a fitting for oil lamp - although should be able to accept a bayonet fitting for electric light. The piece has a stamp on the base and a registration number under 100,000 - hard to read possibly in the 80,000s that dates to circa 1887. Also a makers letter mark. No chips or hairlines on the piece.

The eyes are original but with a roughness to them as if they have lost their shine - strange as they are both original - possibly could do with a lacquer coat to bring back shine.
