Rare Pair Antique Art Nouveau Settee's Late 19th Century

Rare Pair Antique Art Nouveau Settee's Late 19th Century. A fabulous and rare PAIR of European art nouveau settee's, late 19th century. From the estate of Douglas Fairbanks Jr. All hand carved in great detail with cattails, out of fruitwood or possibly beech. The settee's are 52" wide by 40" high at the back by 22 deep.

Floor to seat height is 18. They are solid but because of their nature, are somewhat fragile. There are some restorations on the backs of the settee's. The upholstery is not original and was done by the Fairbanks. Note: there are TWO of these.

We could not photograph both in the same frame. They are matching but due to the hand carving, are not 100% identical.

Guaranteed to be as described. Provenance: These settee's belonged to Douglas Fairbanks Jr.

According to Victoria, the settee's were being restored at the time of the Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Fairbanks's estate was auctioned September 13, 2011 by Doyle New York. Surpassing estimated proceeds by netting over a half-million dollars. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog.
