STATELY DECORATIVE LEAD FRETWORK ON THE BOOKCASE / CA BINET DOORS' GLASS UP TOP - 84 TOTAL SECRETARY DESK HEIGHT - THIS HAS BEEN AND CAN ONCE AGAIN BE TAKEN APART INTO TWO PARTS (I observe 4 large wood screws that hold the sections firmly together).

4 TOP DISPLAY & STORAGE CABINET SHELVES UP OVER THE DESK WITH 6 PIGEON HOLES, A LARGE SLIDE OUT WRITING SURFACE - OVER THREE STORAGE DRAWERS AND A CABINET WITH SHELVES & CUBBIES. ANTIQUE OAK CONSTRUCTION WITH A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PATINA.

THEY TOOK GREAT CARE OF THIS AND LOVED IT DEARLY SO IT ONLY HAS A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES / SCRATCHES. With an Upper Glass- Doored, 4- SHELF STORAGE CABINET with LOVELY DECORATIVE LEAD FRETWORK ON THE GLASS DOORS over A ROLL TOP CYLINDER DOOR THAT WHEN OPENED EXPOSES THE LARGE WRITING SURFACE MID -SECTION WITH 8 INTERIOR CUBBY HOLES & A LARGE PULL-OUT WRITING SURFACE. The Top Cabinet section (Bookcase) is 33 Wide. It is 9 1/4" Deep x 40 1/2" Tall (To the top of the decorative center crown). Inside are 4 shelves 3 are adjustable on period oval wood cut-out support pegs plus the bottom stationary one.

The glass doors are decorated with very attractive lead geometrical fretwork. The door on the left side has a brass lever clasp that holds the door closed until you squeeze it to release the door to open. The bottom half of this Secretary Desk is 32" Wide x 43 1/2" Tall x 22 3/4 Deep. The appealing roll top cylinder desk door opens to the functional Desk section. The interior Desk is 19" Deep x 28" Wide.

The pull out writing surface (it pulls out to allow you to pull a chair up to the desk to sit comfortably in front while you write letters) offers a writing space area of 26" Wide x 20" Deep. Inside are 4 vertical open storage pigeon holes (each 5" Tall x 4 1/2" Wide); these 4 flank the 2 central horizontal pigeon holes. These 2 pigeon holes are 9 3/4" wide x 2 3/4" tall. Under the writing surface are the storage drawers and cabinet: the Top Drawer is 28 1/4" Wide x 5" Tall x 15" Deep; The 2 Drawers below it are 14" Wide x 8" Tall x 15" Deep; the lower right side Cabinet is 16" Tall x 13" Wide x 19" Deep and inside are 3 Shelves each 7" Wide x 17" Deep x 6" Tall. Overall in VERY GOOD, attractive appearance. Please study my photographs for a few minor spots or scratches. These are truly commensurate with antiques of this age (the driveway where I took my photographs has a slight downhill slope from left to right - this Desk is Level) - there is a rub/wear spot just below the roll top cylinder; there are some scratches to the right side of the upper crown molding; there are some dark spots inside the drawers/ or cabinet but you only see them when you pull the drawers out to access your stored items; when you have the Desk in a position that allows you to see the very bottom undercarriage - it shows this desk (at one time in its long life) had castor wheels because the metal castor sockets that the wheels' stems were inserted into are still in 3 of the 4 legs (the 4th leg has no socket as it has some partial wood loss where it used to be - this has no effect on the level sturdiness of the Desk). If you have a favorite shipper- it will be ok too. Local pick-up is convenient to I-95 and of course is free-of-charge. Please ask any questions that you may have.
